Are They Even Trying?

by Erik

All cell phones have horrible designs. They are ugly. They are far more complicated than they need to be. Have all the phone companies replaced their industrial design deparments with buzz-word laden salespeople? Does having MORE on a phone make it BETTER? More is never better. It’s just more.

Just create a phone that makes it simple to keep in contact with people and that I’m not embarrassed to carry.

I agree. What kills me is these parents that buy these expensive cell phones for their kids, so the kids can call and rack up minutes talking to their friends who they just saw 5 min. ago at school or whatever. When we were their age, if we wanted to get in touch with our friends, we either drove to their house, called them on our home phones, or just went next door (in yours and Chad’s case). Kids today are so damn spoiled, it’s sickening! Cell phones should only be a nessessity thing. Emergancy’s, if you need to find your spouse, running errands. Have you seen the commercial right now for Sprint, where the one daughter is excited about a grade, one son dresses up in drag and the other rolls his car through the garage, and all the dad’s upset about is the cell phone bill. There are more real problems in the world, so why do we focus on one thing?

My cell phone has a camera on it. This makes it quite easy to take discreet pictures of things you don’t want people to know you’re taking pictures of.
