…finding a part time job?
Why is it so hard. Why can’t people just try you out and see what kind of skills you have?! I’ve been told I’m a great DJ and I was a good bouncer too, but when looking for a job, I hear the same thing. “We’re not looking right now.” (even though they have an ad in the paper), “I think we have enough people right now, but we’ll keep your application on file.” (Bullshit!) “Thank you for your submitted application and interest in our company. You were at the top of several candidates, but we have decided to go with another strong option. We’ll keep you in mind in anything further comes up. Again, thanks!” (And that’s just a nice way of saying “Fuck you, we don’t want you here working for us.”)
I just want a job. I need income. President Bush said there would be more employment for people, but I’m sorry, I’m not seeing it. I have a good f/t job, but it’s not enough. In this economy, people need two jobs just to keep their heads above water. And I’m not blaming the working world for my mistakes, although I do believe I was unfairly fired from a few jobs, but we rely on our incomes to survive! And what sucks is, our employers know this! It’s a shitty world, and we’re the toilets that get this shit flushed down our throats!
Oh, gee. I’m sorry. I understand. I”ll never forget the summer I applied at 13 different places on 13th Avenue. But, buck up sparky! Say a prayer and open the door for an elderly woman when you’re at the grocery store. God will smile on you for it.
